Time for a quick catch-up! The HelmetOnGo adventure is officially rolling, and I’ve already completed a few lessons that have been equal parts exciting, challenging, and soaked (literally). Here’s how things have been going so far.

Lesson 1 — Finding My Balance

We kicked things off with the fast slalom — and let me tell you, leaning the bike the right way took some getting used to. At first, it felt awkward and a bit nerve-wracking, but little by little it started to click. Every pass got smoother, every lean a bit more confident.

Lesson 2 — Confidence Boost

This time, we picked up where we left off: fast slalom again, but now with a new challenge — the precision stop. It was tricky at first, but by the end of the session, I felt way more comfortable on the bike. The nervousness was slowly being replaced with excitement and control.

Lesson 3 — Rain, Rain, and More Rain

Ah yes, the classic Dutch weather. I was hoping for a dry session, and at first, it looked promising — until the sky decided otherwise. Soon, it was pouring, and we had to adjust to the wet roads on our way to the training location. It was great practice for real-world conditions though. Once we arrived, a new challenge awaited: the emergency stop. And oh boy, that one takes focus!

Lesson 4 — Riding Solo

This one felt like a milestone — for the first time, I got to ride completely on my own to the training location. Nerve-wracking? Definitely. But everything went well! As usual, we repeated all the exercises to build muscle memory, and then came two new additions: the slow slalom and the evasive maneuver. Both are tricky but super fun once you get the hang of them.

And that’s where we are for now! Bit by bit, I’m learning, improving, and enjoying every moment on two wheels. Once I’ve had a few more lessons, you can expect another update — because this journey is only just beginning. 🏍️🔥
